چکیده
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to assess the precision and feasibility 3D-printed marker–based augmented reality (AR) neurosurgical navigation its use intraoperatively compared with optical tracking neuronavigation systems (OTNSs). METHODS Three-dimensional–printed markers for CT MRI intraoperative were applied mobile devices using an AR light detection ranging (LIDAR) camera. 3D segmentations intracranial tumors created MR images, preoperative registration marker pathology performed. A patient-specific, surgeon-facilitated application developed, a device camera used high accuracy, ease, cost-effectiveness. After accuracy values preliminarily assessed, technique in 8 patients. RESULTS LIDAR found successfully overlay images virtual tumor according position marker. targeting error that measured ranged from 0.5 3.5 mm (mean 1.70 ± 1.02 mm, median 1.58 mm). mean preparation time 35.7 5.56 minutes, which is longer than routine OTNSs, but amount required placement very brief other 0.3 minutes). CONCLUSIONS system clinically feasible, highly precise, low-cost, easy-to-use technique. Three-dimensional segmentation targeted on brain clearly visualized skin incision end surgery.

Neuronavigation. Principles. Surgical technique.
Neuronavigation and stereotaxy are techniques designed to help neurosurgeons precisely localize different intracerebral pathological processes by using a set of preoperative images (CT, MRI, fMRI, PET, SPECT etc.). The development of computer assisted surgery was possible only after a significant technological progress, especially in the area of informatics and imagistics. The main indications ...
متن کاملDevelopment and human factors analysis of neuronavigation vs. augmented reality.
This paper is focused on the human factors analysis comparing a standard neuronavigation system with an augmented reality system. We use a passive articulated arm (Microscribe, Immersion technology) to track a calibrated end-effector mounted video camera. In real time, we superimpose the live video view with the synchronized graphical view of CT-derived segmented object(s) of interest within a ...

متن کاملHybrid Frame-based Neuronavigation
Sun et al. have invented a new stereotactic instrument[1], which is thought to bridge the differences between frameless and frame-based techniques. It consists of a stereotactic frame, which is attached to the skull in a manner comparable to classical stereotactic frames. Instead for guidance of a linear instrument, as for example in the case of a frame-based stereotactic biopsy, it is connecte...
